A work in progress for many years, the train-set is finally taking shape since finding it's new permanent home. The layout is a 'N' scale electric system that has been built, trashed, built, trashed and built again. A project that some say will never end (and why should it), it's allowed me to have a play with lots of different ideas and concepts, from building roads, electrical wiring, mountains and scenery.
There are currently 2 boards (links to the left) that make up the layout. The layout consists of 2 mainline's connected as one continuous loop (ie overlapping to make 1 continuous circuit), this effectively means an train set needs to complete 2 loops to end up back at the start, effectively doubling the fun.
Work first started in my garage approx 1998 on a single sheet of particle board which would later become 1/3 of a 4 board setup (now trashed). I've sort of worked backward (people would say this is normal) however now work across sections of the layout, creating something then evaluating over a couple of weeks to see if I like it, or if it suites.
Images show different layouts and designs and implementations over the years, as I've slowly got better at scenery
